How does AI search visibility work?

AI search engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) read pages through their own crawlers, then synthesize answers that cite the sources they trust. AISO measures whether your pages are crawlable, parseable, and citation-friendly.

llms.txt is an emerging discovery standard, spec'd at llmstxt.org, that exposes a site's primary surfaces to AI agents in plain markdown. AISO validates llms.txt as part of the AI Discovery dimension.

Can I run AISO from Claude Code or another MCP client?

Yes. AISO accepts x402 payments (USDC on Base) at POST /api/scan for tiers as low as $0.10. The endpoint replies HTTP 402 with payment instructions when payment is missing.
